Growing interconnectedness has become one of the key features defining the present. Not only does it bring to the fore entirely novel phenomena or new constellations of previously known ones, but it also comes with new demands for their interpretation and understanding. The constitution of supranational political and economic structures, various types of communications, mobility and flows across the individual regions and the globe, and increasingly stiff competition for resources, from minerals to food, all shape our world today. The upcoming special issue seeks to capture these global processes and themes, as well as to grasp the impact they have on the local conditions and vice versa. We especially welcome comparative and case studies as well as interpretative essays, in order to receive a wide range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives on the global-local interplay.

The articles are to be written in English and should be 6,000 to 9,000 words long. The contributions should be sent to the editorial team at stuter@fsv.cuni.cz or uploaded via AUC Studia Territorialia journal management system. The authors should consult the submission guidelines for further instructions and style at http://stuter.fsv.cuni.cz/index.php/stuter/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions.

Abstract submission deadline: January 5, 2017.
