The IRTG cooperates closely with the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Universität Potsdam, El Colegio de México, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores en Antropología Social in Mexico City.

Objectives:
The IRTG adopts a new perspective in the study of globalisation. It seeks to make an innovative contribution to a transnational and interdisciplinary field of study by means of a dialogue between the social sciences and the humanities that is further informed by the respective academic traditions in Mexico and Germany. The IRTG studies movements between different world regions and the new spaces that have emerged during both past and present periods of ever-increasing global interconnectivity.
